Step No.1 – Log in to your Google Analytics Account and navigate where the ‘admin’ option appears.

Step No. 4 – Copy and Paste the entire FBCLID attached with your web page URL in the field accurately.
Step No. 5 – now click on the ‘Save’ button to get your settings applied.

However, this setting does not work retroactively, and so, all your existing data would continue to have the FBCLID parameter active.
Your Google Analytics account would no longer cater to the FBCLID parameter in your GA reports. Also, you can add as many FBCLIDs or similar links to the list of Exclude URL fields as you want. With the increasing privacy policies of most browsers, there’s a massive possibility that parameters like FBCLID become common. All you need to do is stay active about your web page and keep putting such unsightly extensions in the list of Excluded URLs.
Though the parameter is of great use to Facebook, it could cause crucial problems in your GA reporting and mess up your web pages. Because each FBCLID having a unique extension, Google Account is likely to see each web page as a unique URL – resulting in the quick duplication of web pages in your report and making it complex.
For instance, if you’ve started a special campaign and have shared a link to your promotional page via multiple social mediums. Suppose your promotional page got 1,000 views in a day, out of which 500 were from Facebook; your GA report would showcase 50 different URLs for the single promotional page you’d created. Then, it would eventually transform your report into a mess – causing a misstatement of crucial information and destroying your efforts in the end. This is the reason why it is highly significant to remove FBCLID from your Google account.
